Theory of gravitation was firstly given even hundreds of years before the Newton's birth by varahmihira during the period of (505-587)CE an INDIAN Hindu astranaut and mathematician who gave theory that every object in the universe attracts every other object with some force but he did not give it a special name to it.
An Indian astrologer Brahmgupta also give the theory about gravitation. According to his theory "as like water is to flow, fire is to burn likewise our earth also has the property to attract things towards itself". He called this theory "गुरुत्वाकर्षण" which means "gravity".
In 11th century great Indian astrologer Bhaskaracharya in his book "सूर्य सिद्धांत"explained the theory of "gravity" by Brahmgupta in detail with full explanation.
But, almost 500 years after this incident Newton explain the theory of gravity and he came to be known as the discoverer of gravity and gravitation principles.
